Memories are made of this!

Ponder

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Question for you

I have a question to ask which I want to suggest is the most important question of our lives. It is one we all think of from time to time but don’t necessarily answer in a satisfying way. The question is: "Where will I spend eternity?"
Jesus came to earth to reach people and settle this issue. Just as today, many people in Jesus’ time were deeply concerned about the afterlife and where they would spend it, but had no answers to the question. This is why many were so attracted to Jesus when He spoke. He provided answers. He provided the love that many were looking for along with an authority which could be trusted. He was not merely an unusually loving man, or a great teacher- He was God come as man and offered divine love with divine authority. If you have fears about God and your sins and don’t really know whether you are going to heaven, you should know that Jesus came to settle those questions for you. His answers are just as important today as they were back then.
It was the sinners Jesus came to reach. He said "I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance" (Luke 5:32). On one occasion, sinners drew near to Him and the religious people of the day murmured that Jesus "receiveth sinners and eateth with them." In fact, Jesus loved to have those who were sinners surrounding Him because He came to seek and to save them. Jesus spoke of carrying lost sinners back to God on His shoulders like a lost sheep. He also spoke of the great joy in heaven over the repentance of just one sinner. When the sinner is carried back, He will be with His loving God for eternity.
Yes, Jesus would love to carry YOU back to God on His shoulder if you would let Him. Jesus died on the cross for YOUR sins, making the way back to God, securing your place in heaven for eternity. If you will put your trust in Him, He will put you on His shoulders like a poor lost sheep and bring you back to God. Don’t be mistaken. You cannot get back to God on your own in any way. The bible says you are lost before God, in the fullest sense of the word, and unable to find your way back to Him. When someone is truly lost, they need someone to come and save them and bring them to safety. In the case of your soul, Jesus is the one who will save you if you let Him. HE will save you if you put your faith and trust in Him. He is a trustworthy, loving and powerful person who will provide salvation for you if you simply trust in Him. If He can perform miracles, heal people and raise the dead, surely He can save YOU from your sins and bring you back to God. He died a miserable death on the cross, providing a sacrifice for your sins as He bore all the judgment of God for you there. He rose from the dead, displaying God’s satisfaction with His life and death and assuring the validity of His message to us.

It matters not how religious you are or how good a life you have lived- the fact remains that you are a sinner and have need of a Savior. The bible says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Jesus said "repent ye, and believe the gospel" (Mark 1:15).
Won’t you turn to Him, dear sinner, and believe on Jesus as your Lord and Savior? He stands waiting to put you on His shoulder and carry you back to God and to secure your place with Him for eternity. He is the only way- the Father said "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him" (Matthew 17:5). Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me" (John 14:6). Turn from your sin to the only person who ever offered a gospel (good news) of salvation with such a power, love and authority- never before or since seen on this earth. Turn to Jesus- whose name means "Jehovah is Savior." Turn to Him, and your question will be answered- "Where will I spend eternity?" "These things have I written unto you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life" (I John 5:13).
